There are many incredible UFO photos, videos, documents, and witness testimonies available to us, but can they be believed?
Hoaxes and Missightings are a Problem
The UFO phenomena has attracted many hoaxsters, motivated by fame, money, and clicks. Current technology, accessible by nearly everyone, has made it extremely difficult to distinguish real sightings from fake ones. This is why many people place greater importance on UFO data collected before there was easy access to computers. While earlier incidents could still be faked, the methods were much different. Many of these older incidents have been thoroughly analyzed and are better understood today.
Where to Find the Best Evidence
Military and government entities are considered to be reliable sources of data by most people. When these entities release information, we should pay close attention, even when skeptical. Simply be aware that we don't always have the complete story when evaluating data from government sources because of the necessity for secrecy.
Short of a personal sighting, the most valuable UFO report would be one involving multiple, highly credible individuals supported by data from multiple sensors (radar, sonar, visual spectrum and infrared devices, video, and devices like spectrometers).
