McCleod, Canada UFO

On August 27, 1956, near McCleod, Alberta, Canada, two Royal Canadian Air Force pilots, part of a formation of four F86 Sabre jet aircraft, witnessed an extraordinary event. As they flew westward over the Canadian Rockies at an altitude of 36,000 feet, approximately an hour before sunset, one of the pilots spotted a distinct, disk-shaped bright light. This enigmatic object resembled a shiny silver dollar sitting horizontally and was positioned below the planes but above a thick layer of clouds. Its brilliance exceeded that of sunlight reflecting off the clouds. The sighting lasted between 45 seconds and 3 minutes. The first pilot to spot this object promptly reported the observation to the flight leader and even managed to capture a photograph on a Kodachrome color slide. This compelling case and the associated photograph were subsequently subjected to analysis by Dr. Bruce Maccabee in 1996. Maccabee's analysis argued against the possibilities that the phenomenon was a result of sunlight reflection by the clouds or lightning. Based on the available data, Maccabee estimated the object's luminosity, or power output within the spectral range of the film, to be in the range of many megawatts. Delve into the mysteries of this captivating aerial encounter.
