US Army Air Force officer involved in the military's initial investigation of the 1947 Roswell crash.
Sheridan Cavitt, U.S. Army Air Force officer, was part of the initial military investigation of the Roswell crash of July 1947. He accompanied Major Jess Marcel. Cavitt never publicly discussed the incident. When interviewed by UFO researchers in the 1990s, he supposedly asserted that he believed the material found to be part of a secret military program, Project Mogul.
