James T. Lacatski

Nuclear Engineer & Rocket Science

Defense Intelligence Agency rocket science and program manager for AAWSAP study on UAPs.

Dr. James T. LaCatski, an expert in aerospace, defense, and intelligence, was the Program Manager for the Advanced Aerospace Weapon Systems Applications Program (AAWSAP). LaCatski oversaw research on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and advanced aerospace threats. Despite facing challenges and opposition, his work contributed to the scientific understanding of UAPs and paved the way for continued research through programs like the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP).

As the AAWSAP Program Manager, Dr. LaCatski was responsible for managing objectives and supervising data acquisition on UAP encounters. He worked with Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS) to address 12 technical areas in advanced aerospace research. The program encountered obstacles, including limited access to information and resources, as well as internal opposition within the DIA. Although AAWSAP was terminated in 2012, its legacy continued through AATIP, further emphasizing LaCatski's impact on UAP research.
