Director of the FBI from 1924 - 1972 who remained skeptical of flying saucers during a time in which a multitude of UFO sightings were reported.
J. Edgar Hoover, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for multiple decades in the twentieth century. At this time, the FBI continued to receive a large number of reported UFO sightings and encounters. Although interested in the reports, Hoover remained skeptical of the objects being employed by aliens; instead, he was more concerned with the sightings as a national threat in particular regards to the Soviet Union. Hoover was in touch with the CIA and Air Force over the reports and looked to debunk sightings as often as possible.
