Among 10 photographs taken in just one minute, an anonymous witness captured an intriguing sighting in the ponds of Sandun, near Guérande in Loire Atlantique on February 6, 1982, around 9:00 P.M. Initially spotting a large red-orange light at treetop height while driving, the witness was astounded when multiple luminous balls, approximately 50 cm in size, appeared in succession as they approached the scene. However, the sighting took an eerie turn when a large white luminous flash caused the witness to panic and hastily depart. While ball lightning or marsh gas were considered, the final flash defied easy explanation.
