Belgian UFO Wave

Belgian UFO Wave
Thousands witnessed UFOs over the course of several months in Belgium and parts of France.

Over 2000 UFO sightings were reported over Belgium between November 1989- April 1990. The phenomenon became so pervasive that authorities planned to scramble F-16's to investigate in the event that police reports of visual sightings could be corroborated with radar evidence. This plan came to fruition on March 30, 1990 when two F-16's were sent to investigate anomalies picked up through a combination of radar and visual observation. The jets attempted to lock into objects they were tracking on radar but were unsuccessful in doing so; the crafts they were tracking reportedly were observed to "jump huge distances in seconds" and "accelerate beyond human capacity." No official explanation has been given for these events.
