The Condon Committee was a group of US scientists tasked with investigating UFOs.
The Condon Committee was a group of university scientists who convened between 1966-1968 to consider the issue of UFO encounters in the US. The committee was funded by the U.S. Air Force and based out of the University of Colorado. They reviewed dozens of alleged UFO encounters and found that the majority of them had natural explanations. The skepticism about UFO claims put forward by the Committee permeated the US policy and scientific communities for decades to follow, leading to a climate of disinterest for future research.
