General George C. Kenney, the chief of the Strategic Air Command, which was responsible for most of America's nuclear strike forces during the Cold War, told the Associated Press: "The Army has not anything like that. I wish we did."

General George C. Kenney was the first chief of the Strategic Air Command, and held the position during a period of increased "flying saucer" sightings from 1946 to 1948. Kenney's role in the U.S. Air Force's investigation of the UFO phenomenon is unknown, but he would have been briefed due to his high rank. He left this position in late 1948 after receiving some criticism.
