On March 5, 2004, Mexican Air Force pilots recorded infrared video of eleven unidentified flying objects flying at an altitude of 11,500 feet near Campeche.

In 2004, Jaime Maussan, a Mexican investigator, was given a video by Secretary of Defense General Ricardo Vega Garcia. This infrared video, taken from a Mexican Air Force plane, depicts eleven objects that looked like "lights" moving in apparent formation, horizontally across the sky.

The video was confirmed to be authentic by the Mexican Air Force, and multiple members of flight and ground crew corroborated the existence of the video, and spoke of their reactions at the time.

Maj. Magdaleno Castanon, the pilot, claimed that they chased the lights, and stated "...I believe they could feel we were pursuing them." [1] He also stated that when they stopped chasing the objects, they disappeared.

Interestingly, only three of the eleven objects that showed up on the infrared video were apparent on the plane's radar.

German Marin, the radar operator who tracked the UFOs, said in an interview, "Was I afraid? Yes. A little afraid because we were facing something that had never happened before."
