Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth

Described the first interstellar object identified in our solar system in 2017, "Oumuamua," and argued for the possibility of it being artificially made by intelligent life.

Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth written by Harvard's top astronomer, Avi Loeb, relates the discovery of the first interstellar object discovered in our solar system and hypothesizes about its origin. The object which would become known as "Oumuamua" was first spotted in 2017 at a Hawaiian observatory. Based upon its speed, acceleration near the sun, unusual orbit, and lack of visible gas trail, Loeb proposes the notion that the object could be extraterrestrial in origin.
