UFOs Over Washington, D.C.
Multiple UFOs were observed by thousands around the US capital over a 2-week period.
Multiple UFO sightings were reported in Washington D.C. in the summer of 1952. Two different outbreaks of sightings made national news: on July 19-20 and on July 26-27, respectively. Military sources noted seeing bright lights hovering in the sky while simultaneously recording radar anomalies. Many civilians also reported seeing strange lights. The Air Force would publicly debunk both sets of sightings as weather events, but the public interest in the events was great enough to help prompt the formation of the Robertson Panel.
