Majestic 12 is an alleged secret committee of US military officials, scientists, and government officials formed to investigate UFO phenomenon and to determine a path forward for engaging with alien beings. The group was purported to have been authorized into existence by way of executive order from Harry Truman. Modern analysis suggests the Majestic 12 to be either a hoax or a deliberate misinformation campaign by the US government.
