Project Blue Book Established
Project Blue Book was the largest centralized UFO study program in US history.
Following in the legacy of Project Sign and Project Grudge, Project Blue Book was the 1952 iteration of a centralized UFO intelligence gathering program within the U.S. Air Force. Over 12,600 UFO-related incidents were reviewed by the project. The multi-decade project was terminated in 1969, concluding with a declaration stating "there was no evidence indicating that sightings categorized as "unidentified" were extraterrestrial vehicles."
