AATIP was a US government program tasked with investigating UFO phenomena.
The Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) was an American program established in 2007 with a goal of studying UFOs and evaluating potential threats related to national defense. The program, which ran from 2007-2012, was initiated by former Sen. Harry Reid and was not classified but was also not publicized. While this program was formally shuttered in 2012, it is likely that as late as 2020 the work of AATIP had been shifted to reside within other federal programs. The program has been notable for bringing improved public transparency to various UFO-related topics.
