French Government UFO Studies
French government conducts thorough investigations into 11 alleged UFO events.
The French government assembled a research group called Group d'Etudes Des Phenomenes Aerospatiaux Non-Identifies (GEPAN) in 1978 to study 11 prominent UFO sightings in that country. Of the cases studied, only one had a terrestrial explanation. The five volume, 500 page report coming out of this project is considered a more thorough examination of the topic than was provided by its American counterpart, the Condon Committee. One of the major conclusions of the GEPAN report was that there is a "flying machine...whose modes of sustenance and propulsion are beyond our knowledge."
