After the Chiles-Whitted incident, William M. Allen, president of Boeing Aircraft was asked about the flying object by the United Press. Allen said that he did not know of anything in the US being built similar to the UFO described, and when he was asked for comment, he told reporters that he was "pretty sure" it was "not one of our planes."
