Walter Massey

Part of civilian alert who witnessed an unusual oblong fiery object about an hour before the Chiles-Whitted encounter.
A member of civilian alert, Walter Massey who worked as crew chief at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, called in a strange glowing object flying overhead in the night sky. He described it as an oblong object quickly moving in a southern direction with flames out the exhaust. It turns out that he called in his sighting about an hour before pilots John B. Whitted and Clarence S. Chiles famously reported the same eerie flying ship.
