Roswell sheriff who was first brought the materials found at the Roswell crash site by W.W. "Mac" Brazel and reported the findings to the local military base.

After rancher W.W. "Mac" Brazel discovered unusual materials on a ranch near Roswell in 1947, he brought them to Sheriff George Matt Wilcox. Wilcox immediately reached out to the nearby USAAF base and the commanding officer, Colonel William Blanchard. Major Jesse Marcel, an intelligence officer, was then sent to the scene to investigate.
