Cosmologist and astrophysicist known for his research on the cosmic microwave background radiation and the study of the early universe.

Brian Keating earned his bachelor's degree from Case Western Reserve University and his Ph.D. from Brown University, where he specialized in the study of cosmic microwave background radiation. He joined the faculty of the University of California, San Diego as a professor of physics in 2019.

Keating started hosting the "Into the Impossible" podcast in 2016, where he and guests have discussed topics related to field of cosmology and astrophysics, the early universe and the formation of galaxies, the possibility of extraterrestrial life and the search for intelligent life in the universe.

In his 2018 book, "Losing the Nobel Prize," Keating recounted his journey in the pursuit of evidence of cosmic inflation and the discovery of gravitational waves, shedding light on the intense competition and political aspects of the scientific community.
