Local McMinnville newspaper reporter who published the Trents' story and photographs of a UFO on the front page.
The McMinnville Telephone Register ran a story written by reporter, Bill Powell, about the UFO spotted and photographed by Evelyn and Paul Trent. When Powell heard about the incident at the Trent farm, he asked them to loan him the two negatives of the UFOs. Powell examined the photos and was convinced that the pictures were real. His headline for the paper read, "At Long Last—Authentic Photographs Of Flying Saucer." After the story ran, it was picked up by newspapers nationwide and eventually even Life magazine.
